SICK OR ORPHANED WILDLIFE - WHAT TO DO?

I am writing this to you so that people who find wildlife, either sick or orphaned, can contact the appropriate licensed individual who can assist them.  Our organization is not licensed to handle or rehabilitate wildlife, and it would seem that people are being directed to us for help.  While we are happy to talk with people about their situation, and when I can I will transport animals to the right rehabber, the calls are becoming rather overwhelming.  There is a website with the NJDEP that lists all NJ rehabilitators by name, location and/or specialty (not all rehabbers can work with all species).  Please direct the public to the following website for a qualified person to help them with their specific problem: www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/rehablst.htm.   It may be helpful to put this link on your website like we did so that people see it right away.
